Naval Air Systems Command IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in China Lake, California

Summary You will serve as a IT NETWORK SPECIALIST in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group/Digital, Information Technology, Analysis & Cyber Department/Digital Infrastructure Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, equipment installation and maintenance, and equipment deployment for networks. You will provide mentoring, guidance and a source of expertise for the DITAC information technology work force and DITAC leadership as required. You will serve as lead in strategic information technology design activities for networks. You will research emerging technologies and working with vendors or government entities to provide engineered networking solutions to address evolving needs of our networks. You will work with network operations team to support the maintenance, repair and upgrade of network equipment in an advanced capacity (switches, routers, etc.). You will provide remote support (and travel to when required) remote WD sites, particularly NAWC Pt. Mugu to perform listed tasking. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To Qualify for DS-05: Your resume must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK). Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing and administering enterprise IT systems and software such as: switching/routing network devices, security stack devices, network monitoring systems, server devices, emergent networking or computing technologies, cloud based systems or any combination of the above.
