System One Maintenance Supervisor-Lubrication in Chillicothe, Ohio

Direct hire (permanent) opportunity.

100% onsite.

Role

Implements lubrication best practices mill-wide while keeping craftspeople safe, well-trained and productive to ensure completion of all necessary lubrication routes according to manufacturers and mill specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure craftsmen are trained in all safety policies and procedures. Maintains a safe, hazard free shop while maintaining high housekeeping standards in all areas.

  • Must be fully trained in Safe Start, Safety Policies and complete at least 2 safety contacts per week. Responsible for crew members to do all applicable work permits related to their tasks.

  • Responsible to achieve International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML) Machine Lubrication I and II certification. Ensures crew is trained and certified on ICML MLT I standards.

  • Responsible for successful execution of all routine and outage lubrication routes. Maintains lubrication route Key Performance Indicators for all areas of the mill.

  • Maintains proper filtration, dehydration, and grease/ lubrication delivery equipment. Ensures the lubrication technicians have all the proper tools and equipment to do their job.

  • Responsible for all used oil sampling and analysis. Ensures work notifications are written for any reliability deficiencies found in the field, especially lubrication related.

  • Responsible for maintaining adequate oil and grease inventory to complete all lubrication tasks.

  • Ensures adequate lubrication coverage is available to complete routes as scheduled when vacancies occur.

  • Makes sure all Tour Mechanics are trained in proper lubrication techniques and lubrication equipment operation, as well as ensuring that they have access to correct lubricants.

  • Works with maintenance supervisors and planners to ensure all lubrication points are properly labeled and there is effective documentation of the lubricant or grease type that goes into all applications.

  • Tracks and improves any lubrication related reliability incidents (RIs). Responsible for any lubrication related RIs and subsequent Root Cause Failure Analysis. Accountable for improvement and year over year reduction is the number of lubrication related RIs and their total financial impact.

  • Makes sure all satellite lubrication storage and work areas are kept to FM Global standards of safety, fire protection and housekeeping.

  • Works with maintenance planners to make sure lubrication related BOMs, specs and guidelines are updated and maintained in SAP.

  • Makes sure all lubricators are trained and utilize SAP to look up equipment and write work notifications.

  • Uses applicable technology to improve route tracking and documentation such as SKF, DMSI, Tango or similar devices.

  • Maintain Lubrication Continuous Improvement Program documentation.

  • Works closely with Exxon Mobil (lubrication supplier) for training, best practices and application specific recommendations.

  • Accountable for oil leak surveys to reduce leaks and show oil consumption improvement.

    Qualifications

  • Four (4) year technical degree or equivalent desired; BS in mechanical engineering preferred.

  • Five (5) years mechanical experience in an industrial environment.

  • Ability to adapt to change, to learn new skills and willingly accept new challenges.

  • Ability to handle deadlines, variable workloads, and being on call.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams to successfully complete work.

  • Good computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, general familiarity with Windows) SAP experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrates good and communication skills, both verbally and written.

  • Ability and willingness to be promoted within the organization.
