Resideo Mechanical Design Engineer I in CHIHUAHUA, Mexico

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve Products, techniques, procedures, and technologies. You will support the design and development of new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as supporting current products modification and improvements based on in service needs and market strategy. You will support the concept, design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies and final products. Contribute in the area feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Be a technical expert in concept and fixture design as well as hands-on process development. Utilize your engineering capabilities to support projects in a variety of markets.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support the design and development of new ideas and solutions for new product development, as well as support modifications and current product improvements based on service needs and market strategy.

  • Identify alternate parts used in our current and future products, as well as identify alternate suppliers.

  • Support the concept, design, and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies, and final products.

  • Contribute in the area of feasibility studies and testing for new and modified designs.

  • Utilize your engineering capabilities to support projects across a variety of markets.

  • Deliver hardware designs on time and in accordance with project schedules and customer requirements.

  • Prepare dimensional and tolerance stack-up analysis, material analysis, and tooling selection.

  • Implement product development and testing plans for problem-solving and product validation.

  • Communicate project-related information to internal and external clients.

  • Consult with different departments outside of Engineering (purchasing, quality, etc.).

  • Provide direct support to the assigned business areas.

  • Participate in the creation of DFMEA analyses.

  • Support the factory in implementing improvements and resolving issues.

  • Create and implement engineering changes.

  • Follow up on changes made in the process.

  • Develop test fixtures for product validation.

  • Control and document engineering and manufacturing technical data.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 0-2 + Years of experience in similar roles.

  • Microsoft Office; statistics, handling of laboratory mechanical equipment, and manual measuring instruments.

  • Knowledge of plastic materials, injection molding of plastics, manufacturing processes and tooling, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.

  • Skills and knowledge in mechanical design using Creo Parametrics, desirable Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and general CAD proficiency.

  • Intermediate - Advanced English, written and verbal communication skills.
