Job Description:

As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith’s mission by:

Gathers, compiles and analyzes transportation demographic, economic, land use and/or environmental data. Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Reviews transportation plans for compliance/consistency with applicable local, state and federal laws. Escalates any legal compliance issues as necessary. Performs project administrative duties as required. Works and communicates with clients on a regular basis to manage and respond to client requests. Assists with marketing to new and existing clients and provides project approach information for project pursuits. Monitors task schedules and budgets. Manages CDM Smith’s quality management procedures on tasks and support technical review committees as a task lead in the QAQC of transportation studies, including data collection, data analytics, safety analysis, congestion analysis, and traffic model validation. Develops scope, schedule, budget for major tasks, including data collection, data analytics, safety analysis, congestion analysis, and traffic model validation. Writes memos and reports, including preparation of tables, graphs and figures. May work from home up to 2 days per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Transportation Planner or in a related role. In the alternative, at least a Master’s degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related field and at least 4 years of experience as a Transportation Planner or a related role would be acceptable

• Must also possess the following:

o At least 4 years of experience writing technical documents for transportation projects

o At least 3 years of experience with Arc Pro

o At least 3 years of experience working on complex toll projects, including policy and equity

o At least 2 years of experience completing NEPA documentation for a wide variety of federal agencies

o At least 1 year of experience serving as a technical leader overseeing project task.
