The University of Chicago\'s Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and Pritzker School of Medicine seek first term tenure-track assistant professors in the broad fields of biology, medicine, public health, and related disciplines. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.

This search, which is not restricted to any specific field, seeks to identify scientists who have exceptional research programs and who utilize an inclusive teaching and mentoring skillset. We encourage applications from scientists whose research spans multiple departments or is in emerging areas.

whose research directions connect with, expand, or bring new expertise to one or more of our ten basic science departments or our thirteen research-intensive clinical departments;

who have experience, skills, and interest in building a community and training the next generation of scientists;

who seek to launch their independent biological/biomedical research careers at a University featuring a top-ranked Biological Science Division located on a compact campus alongside an outstanding Division of Physical Sciences, a ground-breaking School of Molecular Engineering, a leading academic medical center and a premier undergraduate college.

The purpose of this search is to align faculty recruitment efforts to the core academic values of the Division of the Biological Sciences. Thus, this search is independent of, and complements, more traditional, department-based faculty searches. This approach allows the Biological Sciences Division to capitalize on faculty applicants who bring academic value to the division but whose research interests may fall outside the bounds of more specific searches. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available, as will the potential for interactions with our off-campus affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
