Duties and Responsibilities

The Staff Scientist for the Knight Lab:

  • Supports research projects by designing and performing lab assays and analysis. Assists PI, Research Staff, and Students with various lab procedures and projects.

  • Performs analysis of laboratory data, including statistical analysis and data from flow cytometry. Analysis requires familiarity with basic methods in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics.

  • Regularly generates reports on data obtained from experiments.

  • Organizes, curates, and updates data bases of the acquired information and the corresponding analyses.

  • Maintains orderly records.

  • Maintains a safe and orderly working environment.

  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

PhD is required.
