The Role

The Senior Manager - Technical Program Management is responsible for managing cross-functional IT programs, as well as advancing project management best practices and PMO reporting processes for the Technology Services department. This role will provide oversight to the management of large, complex programs spanning multiple IT and business departments and support the initiation, planning, execution, and finalizing of projects according to deadlines and budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. This role applies leadership influence across the PMO and any direct reports. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Develop, document, and implement PMO standards and processes to drive optimal delivery of the IT Project Portfolio.

•Create roadmaps/plans for multiple related work efforts which roll up into program-level plans to manage cross-functional teams and project dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.

•Confidently liaise with program stakeholders at all levels of the organization including executive leadership, manage expectations, and provide program-level status via strategic dialog, presentations, and written communications.

•Provide IT leaders with the information needed to assess and prioritize projects with the highest potential value, impact, and/or strategic alignment.

•Influence project delivery teams to clarify business priorities, or opportunities and assist with communicating delivery challenges and project risks.

•Proactively perform risk management and identify issues across functions and inter-dependent efforts.

•Manage issues and escalate as necessary when projects within the portfolio are at risk in terms of scope, timelines, and budgets.

•Effectively facilitate meetings with large audiences and/or broad/complex topics.

•Monitor project financials and recommend budget changes where necessary.

•Provide oversight across multiple programs to identify and resolve conflicts, and resource constraints and clear critical pathways.

•Monitor compliance of project teams to PMO policies and standards.

•Provide onboarding and continuous learning opportunities to IT Project Managers.

•Hold project teams accountable for following standards.

•Manage and develop any direct reports.

•Opportunities to participate in Hyatt’s Diversity & Inclusion activities.

Qualifications:

Experience Required:

•10 years direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects from project initiation through execution and delivery.

•Agile delivery/project management-related experience on IT projects

•Proven management and development of teams

• Executive-level stakeholder management and reporting

Experience Preferred:

•Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, project management, or related fields

•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired

•Experience with Hospitality / Hotel Management strongly desired

•Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite

•Knowledge in Project Management Tools; Smartsheet preferred
