Robert Half Senior Investment Accounting Consultant in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Senior Investment Accounting Consultant in Chicago, Illinois. This role will be focused on the financial industry, requiring a high level of expertise in accounting and reconciliation processes, and the use of various financial software. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting-related tasks, including the reconciliation of accounts and the maintenance of the general ledger.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee account reconciliation processes and ensure accuracy of financial records

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies

• Carry out bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurate

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are recorded accurately

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of financial information

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks and reporting

• Carry out month-end close processes in a timely and accurate manner

• Use NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks and processes

• Assist with the administration of basic life insurance and company-paid life insurance

• Handle commissions and other insurance-related tasks. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close operations

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software

• Knowledge and understanding of Basic Life Insurance and Company-Paid Life Insurance

• Experience with Commissions in the Insurance industry

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Proven experience in a similar role in the investment or finance sector

• Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is an advantage

• Adept at problem-solving and decision-making

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of investment accounting.
