RR Donnelley Senior Financial Analyst in Chicago, Illinois
The Senior Financial Analyst for our Controller Group will participate in projects related to lease accounting, divestitures, acquisitions, other technical accounting areas/issues, financial reporting and implementation of accounting policies. On a project basis, perform in-depth evaluations to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policy. Work closely with business unit finance leaders as well as external auditors.
Responsibilities:
Conduct technical research on accounting issues and new accounting standards impacting the financial reporting process. Remain highly current on all accounting pronouncements
Assist in the accounting and reporting of acquired and divested businesses
Assist in the implementation and on-going monitoring of new and recent accounting standards
Update and prepare accounting policy and process documentation
Participate in month-end and quarterly general ledger activities including account analysis, journal entries and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and document information included in interim and annual financial statements and earnings releases
Other projects may include purchase accounting, process improvement efforts related to accounting and financial reporting and preparing documentation supporting accounting conclusions
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills required with a high level of written communications proficiency
Multi-tasking and managing shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and an ability to work independently
Strong technical and analytical skills; solution focus
Proven ability to respond within short time constraints and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
Required Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
Big 4 accounting experience preferred with current technical accounting research background
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience and proficient in applying GAAP
