Wolters Kluwer Senior Business Analyst - Data Analytic | Reporting in Chicago, Illinois

The Senior Business Systems Analyst plays a critical role in DXGs Data Analytics and Reporting team. This newly established data function is designed to provide advanced analytics solutions that empower partners with applicable insights, driving the success of DXG’s transformation programs. You will focus on developing, enhancing, and maintaining data-driven reporting solutions using tools like Microsoft Power BI and other components of the Power Platform. Your work also involves close collaboration with different partner groups to help establish the Data Analytics and Reporting function and help manage the team’s backlog. You will report to the Director, Technology Project & Program Management.

Location is Hybrid from Wolters Kluwer's Chicago office

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver analytics and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps to support DXG’s transformation efforts. These solutions will provide partners with clear insights to inform strategy, monitor progress, and support decision-making.

  • Engage with stakeholders across / dxg to understand their reporting and analytics needs, translating requirements into system specifications and ensuring that solutions align with/dxg’s strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with leaders and partners to prioritize the product backlog, ensuring understanding of goals and that the highest-value analytics solutions are delivered to support */dxg’s transformation programs.

  • Create detailed user stories and system requirements, collaborating with technology teams to develop and provide analytics solutions.

  • Use an understanding of data modeling, analytics tools, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to propose solutions that enhance DXG’s operational and transformation goals.

  • Produce main project artifacts, including data flows, process flow, Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), and Functional Specifications (FS), to ensure the clarity and agreement of analytics projects.

  • Implement procedures to ensure data integrity, consistency, and understanding of data governance standards while ensuring the appropriate use of the Power Platform’s capabilities for customization.

  • Contribute to the development of analytics best practices, project standards, and quality goals to improve the delivery of data insights across */dxg’s transformation programs.

  • Promote a data-driven culture within */dxg by advocating the use of analytics to lead decision-making and strategy, allowing teams to use a common data platform and reporting standards.

  • Build, collaborative relationships with partners.

  • Lead important project meetings, including kickoffs, communicating roles, responsibilities, and progress to both internal and external partners

  • Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to ensure the successful modeling, integration, and deployment of data sources and analytics models that meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years in Business Systems Analysis or equivalent experience, with a focus on delivering data analytics solutions.

  • Experience with data analytics tools, Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, and other components of the Power Platform. Design and deliver solutions that offer partners clear, applicable insights.

  • Experience working with data engineers and technical teams for data modeling, ensuring that solutions are aligned with goals and technical standards.

  • Analytical skills with a high attention to detail, able to identify problems, evaluating options, and providing solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience implementing data integrity, governance, and reporting standards that help deliver high-quality analytics solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience driving a data-driven culture to adopt analytics solutions.
