Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Chicago location is looking for a new Sea Logistics Central Area Exports Development Manager to join our Sea Logistics team.

Your Role

Reporting to the Area Sea Logistics Manager you will be responsible for developing the export sea logistics product for the Central Region.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide leadership & direction for the Sea Export product for the Central Region together with the local Customer Care teams and local Sea Logistics Field Sales teams

• Drive volume growth on sea exports for the region while maintaining trade profitability

• Yield Maximization – maximize GP through carrier choices and negotiating with internal/external stakeholders , whilst limiting service failures

• To develop pricing strategies (liaise on pricing / RFQ preparation) in tandem with Trade Management and ensure Quotation Qualification

• Pro-actively participate in customer visits / meetings as needed and in conjunction with local/Area sales personnel

• Manage Customer retention & focus on prospecting for new Business

• Stay up-to-date with Market Knowledge & provide continuous updates to the Team

• Business Development & Strategy setting to increase Market share

• Supporting Sales in turning opportunities into Business Partners

• Close cooperation with Branch & Area management as well as Sea Logistics operations (OCC) for an enhanced customer experience

• Enhance customer satisfaction through the highest level of service quality achievable

• Actively seek regular community based activities for team participation

• Special Projects & Expertise: Lead strategic initiatives, acting as a Sea Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) in key regional, national, and international meetings.

Your Skills and Experiences

• 2+ years' Sea Logistics experience

• 1+ years' Import/Export Operations experience

• You have the ability to report to the office 5 days per week

• You will be required to travel for business purposes

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
