Sales Development Manager

BioSolutions Division, Carbohydrates Solutions--Midwest

This is a full time, exempt level position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new sales for BioSolutions portfolio to non-food applications that includes but is not limited to, personal care, construction, fermentation, plant and home care industry. This remote position is located in the mid west, and will also be responsible for managing existing account relationships with important emphasis on growing ethanol product footprint.

  • Proven service and customer focus with ability to build and maintain customer relationships/partnerships with management, R&D, purchasing, marketing and plant production staff

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and report developments to cross functional teams

  • Willingness to learn, assist and manage all customer channels

  • Desire/motivation to help promote other ADM products to “key” relationships

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our customer facing organization to develop and implement differentiated value propositions for our customers

  • Develop new sales in North America

  • Be recognized customer expert and key point of contact for ADM BioSolutions portfolio that includes, ethanol, dextrose, fructose, glucose syrups, citric acid and derivatives

  • Recommends Specialty “value-added” solutions to national and regional account customers, including but not limited to, effective introduction of new products, technologies, andprocesses,to strengthen and obtain new business in support of segment growth targets and account plans

  • Continually draws insights on customer needs and seeks opportunities to translate these into actionable plans and new sales development. Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the markets and competitive landscape

  • Develop targeted customer lists in collaboration with Technical Service, Channel Sales and Research teams.

  • Develop and maintain up-to-date ‘fact-based’ customer development plans

  • Analyze marketing insights to unlock opportunities for future account growth

  • Active use and implementation of CRM Tool (Salesforce.com)

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with ADM Business Units

  • Wholly responsible for contracting activities

  • Ultimately responsible for effective management of cost levers (knowing the cost to serve) and in assisting in the timely collection of account receivables

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Marketing, Business or related field and a minimum of five years’ sales and marketing experience, preferably in B2B industry such as, personal care, construction, fermentation, plant and home care

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with specific competency in account planning and goal setting

  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Salesforce.com and Microsoft software including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Travel

  • Overnight travel is required (40% minimum)
