Position Summary

Manages teams within revenue cycle operations of Huron Managed Service’s Domestic Business Office. Responsible for motivating staff to achieve the highest levels to meet organizational goals for customer service, operational and financial performance. Reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Director.

The Manager is responsible for managing performance, which encompasses operational performance, financial performance, and cost efficiency. The manager is a critical member of HMS’ domestic leadership team, who is expected to design and execute on strategic priorities, in addition to managing day-to-day revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate is dynamic and has the ability to quickly implement special projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

KEY JOB DUTIES:

  • Complete staff to demand analytics for project and client scope, allocate the appropriate DBO staff resources based on need and skillset

  • Manage the onboarding process for new clients, staff assignments, and point solutions. This includes coordination of system access, equipment, required trainings, and onboarding expectation discussions with the client and DBO performance manager.

  • Understand the client expectations for hours of operation and appropriately align staff to meet the shift expectations

  • Monitors the unit utilization and provides regular reporting on unit time allocation and financial impact/spend in each time category

  • Creates and maintains unit budget and utilization key performance indicators, including project and client specific budgets and monitoring

  • Coordinate with RC Analytics and IT to ensure necessary reporting is accurate and up-to-date, including time entry, computer activity, and client activity log reporting

  • Review and approve all employee time including time-off, client billable time, and overtime

  • Work closely with the DBO Performance Manager on staff performance escalations and concerns related to absence and time reporting

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems and insurance issues, healthcare industry issues and trends, legal issues in field of expertise, required third party and governmental guidelines, and work processing

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written – and an ability to relay information in an effective manner

  • Flexible and adaptable to change

  • Comfort operating and making decisions in ambiguity

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize initiatives based on risk and benefit profile, manage multiple initiatives at once, respond to email and phone calls timely, and create/manage to a project workplan where needed

  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to interpret large data sets and translate outcomes into recommendations for improvement

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization required

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Health Administration preferred) and 5+ years of experience within revenue cycle operations, revenue metrics and analytics, and revenue management or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a multi-facility, integrated health care delivery system or consulting experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Work Environment:

• This job operates in a professional office environment.

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

• This role requires remaining seated at a desk/computer for 8 hours daily; repetitive use of computer keyboard and mouse; use of computer monitors for 8 hours daily; interaction though video/audio conference calls and possible use of a headset with microphone; very rarely duties might require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.

The estimated salary range for this job is $80,000- $115,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
