Interventional Platform Department?

If so, you are the right candidate for our RN 2 position in Perioperative Prep Surgery!

Position Highlights:

  • Rush is one of only a few U.S. hospital embracing the Interventional Platform concept

  • Locates all interventional procedures close to each other for enhanced collaboration among specialists, patients and families

  • Patient registration, pre-procedural preparation and post-procedure recovery occur on each level of the platform, eliminating the need for patients and their families to travel to multiple locations within the hospital

  • Staff nursing opportunities to participate in research, teaching and other activities for professional development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Focus on activities in Pre-Op area

  • Patient preparation includes: completion of patient history and education, pre-operative testing, IV insertion, medication administration, patient assistance with and monitoring post insertion of invasive lines or regional blocks and completion of required paperwork

  • Nursing assessment skills critical during the preparation process

Position Qualifications Include :

  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.

  • BSN (or higher) required.

  • BLS certification required. CPR certifications must be provided from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • 1-2 years of Med/Surg exp. required: Ambulatory exp a plus

  • Excellent patient relationship building skills required

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
