We’re seeking a social media producer who is passionate about the news and looking to tell stories that resonate with audiences in the rapidly-evolving world of digital media.

Position Description

· Post to and manage social media accounts reaching millions of users, from Facebook to TikTok

· Create social media content across all formats, from the written word to images to videos

· Pitch, develop and produce original content for video-focused platforms

  • Work collaboratively with editors, writers and reporters to adapt stories to social media platforms

  • Use data to evaluate storytelling tactics and suggest improvements to overall strategy

  • Use social media metrics and tools to identify trending and emerging stories

    · Keep up to date on the latest trends in social media and share with the larger team

    · Train staff members on social media best practices, use of social tools and other tactics

    Qualifications

    · Experience creating social media content for large brands or news media outlets

  • Strong writing skills and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice

  • Good editorial judgement in content selection and adaptation based on the platform

  • Ability to quickly edit video and photos in high-pressure situations

    · Knowledge of data and analytics and demonstrated ability to use that data to make decisions

    · Good communicator who can work collaboratively

    · Knowledge in social media platforms and tools to manage them

    · Journalism background preferred but not required

  • Experience producing for or directing on-camera talent a plus

This position is in-office in our Chicago·or New York locations. Early morning, late night and/or weekend shifts may be required

Salary range is from $60-75K. Other compensation includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K match, Paid Parental Leave, and Vacation.
