Microsoft Corporation Principal Group PM Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Are you passionate about Cybersecurity? Interested in working on one of the most exciting engineering teams at Microsoft? The C+AI Security Engineering customer experience (CxE) team is looking for a Principal PM Manager to lead a team whose mission is to drive usage and adoption of our cloud security services for Azure and EMS Security.

This leader will report to the General Manager of the CxE team and will play a critical role in the successful adoption of our security products and services. This person will be responsible for leading and managing a team to drive our customer deployment program, move customers from pilot/proof-of-concept to full production where heavy lifting from the product group is needed to understand, improve and unblock the customer experience and improve the service.In addition to your passion for technology, you will need exceptional communication (including presentation, written and verbal) skills. You would also need to get hands-on to deeply understand the services in order to synthesize feedback into actionable recommendations, help prioritize product development to close gaps or simplify the e2e to help the service reach escape velocity. We also have flexibility to hire for this position in various U.S. based locations.

Responsibilities

The Deployment Success Principal PM Managers responsibilities include:

  • People Management: Lead a global high performing team to work with customers to drive and unblock service adoption, identifying technical blockers and gaps in documentation. Communicate these with quantitative and qualitative data to the feature PMs in monthly syncs and through business reviews. Remove barriers to agility to enable the team to shift priorities quickly without losing productivity while driving maximum impact. Create an inclusive work environment where each employee can effectively engage and thrives on the team.

  • Driving Objectives and Key Results: Lead the team to drive objectives and key results to enable the services to reach escape velocity. Capture the voice of the customers and synthesize quantitative and qualitative feedback into actionable recommendations for the product development engineering teams in a prioritized manner. Write technical playbooks, blogs and documentation. Effectively tell the story of our security solutions in public and internal events.

  • Continual Engineering Improvements: Relentlessly champion and advocate for our customers in representing their issues to engineering teams and be a change agent to develop innovative ways to resolve complex issues. As a member of the product engineering team, you will use your engineering skills to improve our security services, to help customers get and stay secure and to write documentation/best practices and playbooks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering security solutions to enterprise customers.

  • 7+ years of experience managing and leading highly technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity domains, cloud computing technologies and Azure landscape.

  • Personal drive for impact: a desire to “roll up your sleeves” and make things happen.

  • Strong security and identity management background.

  • Strong passion and focus on delivering the right customer experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop global teams.

  • Ability to innovate and drive change.

  • Ability to build a deep technical relationship with internal teams and customers.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
