Rush University Medical Center , a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Epilogist . This position will have a primary practice location at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago but will also require coverage at other regional sites as needed. The Epilepsy Center has a multidisciplinary team that includes epileptologists, neurophysiologists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists and social workers. The program offers comprehensive inpatient, and outpatient services, provides patients with a full range of medical, surgical and neuromodulation treatment options, including investigative therapies and approaches that are not wildly available. Patients who require inpatient treatment receive care on a specialized neurological unit and Neuro ICU with staff specifically trained in neurosurgical and neurological care. The center has robust research program in basic and clinical sciences, run by PHD clinical neurophysiologist.
Qualified candidates must be graduates from an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency and have completed fellowship training in Epilepsy. Candidates must be board certified in Neurology and board eligible in Epilepsy. Additional certification by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology is desirable. Candidates with experience in SEEG, Neuromodulation therapies and research in epilepsy and epilepsy surgery are preferable. Qualified candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher. Teaching epilepsy fellows, neurology residents and medical students and participating in house staff education is also an expectation.
