Crate & Barrel Photo Studio Styling Manager in Chicago, Illinois

The Photo Studio Styling Manager is a talented stylist with a critical eye that is knowledgeable in current trends. They collaborate closely with our Studio teams while executing elevated on-brand creative. They are responsible for the management, training, and development of the Photo Studio Styling team, along with the maintenance of Photo Studio styling standards, procedures, and stations.

This is an On-Site position based out of our Photo Studio in Chicago, Illinois

A day in the life as a Photo Studio Styling Manager…

  • Lead the styling team in the creation of compelling imagery that is unique and appropriate to each brand and maximizes company sales growth and profitability

  • Conceptualize and execute on-brand elevated styling across a wide range of kitchen, food/beverage, textiles & home furnishing product categories

  • Deepen customer engagement and conversion by continuously driving the creation of innovative and engaging photo experiences that align with the brand creative vision

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation with teams, ensuring the team is positioned to serve the evolving needs of our brands and customers

  • Ensure a rich talent roster, providing an array of talent that covers business and creative needs

  • Actively manage stylist talent to quality and efficiency expectations with regular constructive feedback and developmental opportunities

  • Foster a culture that promotes innovation, celebrates success, and embraces change

  • Drive ongoing process improvements and organizational efficiency

  • Develop category-specific styling guides to ensure consistency of our branded look and serve as training and reference material for other stylists

  • Develop/maintain strong partnerships with peers to strengthen and align the work and foster a fun, collaborative, and productive work environment

  • Remain current on new technologies, approaches, techniques, trends and influences that are important to our brand, our work, and customer

  • Oversee the style team’s maintenance of prop libraries, wardrobe, soft styling stations, and styling areas within the studio for optimal photo shoot preparedness

    What you’ll bring to the table…

  • Expert styling skills with experience with the nuances necessary to support multiple brands; leading a creative team within a high-volume production environment

  • Knowledged in current trends and cultural mindsets/influences in the area of home design, décor, entertaining, and pop-culture

  • Ability to forecast and work to a budget on styling projects

  • Ability to pivot and re-prioritize on the go; remain flexible to changing schedules

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to appropriately adjust communication (verbal and written) and presentation style and content to the audience

  • Must provide a link to portfolio (including password) on resume or provide PDF samples

  • 5+ years experience with industry knowledge of photography styling and photo studio operations

  • 3+ years experience Managing/Leading a team

  • Proficient in relevant software including Adobe Creative and Google Docs/Spreadsheets

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated

  • Proactive problem-solving skills
