Description We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves overseeing all aspects of the timekeeping and payroll process for a large number of employees. This role is crucial to the smooth running of our organization and involves working with both unionized and non-unionized staff, utilizing various payroll software systems, and operating within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accurate and timely completion of timesheets

• Enter data into payroll software and spreadsheets in an efficient manner

• Handle direct deposit requests and data transfers

• Process paper payroll checks for distribution

• Handle wage garnishments and process related reports

• Manage vacation calculations for unionized and non-unionized staff

• Oversee timekeeping technologies, software, and hardware

• Train management staff on using payroll systems and app access

• Adjust pay for raises, bonuses, etc. based on company policies and contractual expectations

• Utilize knowledge of payroll, taxes, garnishments, and benefits distribution. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with Ceridian payroll system

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400 system

• Familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System

• Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Familiarity with "About Time" software

• Proficient in accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
