Neuberger Berman Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois
Neuberger Berman, a leading asset manager, is seeking a real estate paralegal to join its Legal and Compliance Department in its Chicago office to provide support to the Residential Loan investment team and the business attorney supporting the team.
Responsibilities:
Assist in whole loan trading efforts; oversee proper execution and delivery of trade documents, notices, and other related trade documents for daily trades
Assist, manage, and maintain corporate organization for all fund-related entities, including secretary of state filings, annual reports, and internal record-keeping databases
Assist and maintain all legal databases for fund documents, agreements, assets, and corporate organizations
Support and assist due diligence for loan acquisitions, particularly for title and survey issues
Support and assist loan servicing managers with loss mitigation, servicer oversight, and litigation strategy, including foreclosure oversight, REO management, and other servicing issues
Qualifications:
3-10 years real estate and lending experience, including familiarity with title and survey issues, construction and other advances and residential real estate lending
Knowledge of real estate documents, contracts, and residential loan documentation
Familiarity with loss mitigation procedures and foreclosures
Proficiency with entity formations, registered agents, annual reports and corporate filings with various secretaries of state
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting legal functions of the residential loan team
Well organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
