Nexstar Media Group NewsNation Line Producer, Morning in America (Chicago) in Chicago, Illinois
NewsNation is looking for a Line Producer to join the team which produces NewsNation’s Morning in America which airs 6a-9aET/5a-8aCT. The line producer plays a lead role in managing show's rundown and facilitating execution of the live show in the control room collaborating with editorial and production staff. The line producer also helps manage response to breaking news during the live broadcast. The position is based at the network's headquarters in Chicago.
Duties & Responsibilities
Works with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer to create the show's rundown and manage workflow for a team which includes segment producers, writers, and associate producers
Works with director and production crew on technical aspects of broadcast
Writes scripts including but not limited to opens, and teases
Facilitates creation of in-show graphics and story titles
Times newscast in the control room during live broadcast
Coordinates with assignment desk and control room staff being proactive about troubleshooting problems and responding to breaking news
Other duties as assigned by show leaders or network leadership
Requirements & Skills:
Five or more years’ experience in national or major-market news
BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related field.
Strong time management skills
Strong writing skills
Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people
Must be able to Interact well with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital and engineering staff
Detail-oriented
Exhibit strong news judgment
Handle stress, including short deadlines
Work at a computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays
