Brookfield Properties retail is responsible for delivering enterprise infrastructure, applications and related end user technology services across our retail properties.

Reporting to the Manager of Network Engineering, the Network Engineer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of Network Infrastructure services. They will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of these services to provide exceptional end-user experience to the Brookfield Properties retail. This role will be 50% operational in nature and 50% project based.

To execute successfully, the Network Engineer will work with third-party service and technology providers. They will ensure operational processes are followed and continually enhanced to provide the delivery of all related Network Infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor data networks, remediate outages and performance issues while partnering with carriers/vendors.

  • Document work and actions taken to address network requests, issues, and projects through ServiceNow

  • Adhere to department standards on time reporting for tasks/projects

  • Create, review/update, and maintain procedures and knowledge articles for internal and external support teams

  • Own break/fix and requests to maintain consistent operational environment.

  • On call outside of regular business hours as well as occasional nights and weekends on a rotational schedule

  • Occasional travel across the U.S.

  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 4+ years in the networking industry

  • CCNA or equivalent experience required

  • Experience with Cisco IOS, Catalyst 9000 series switches required

  • Prior experience with a networking monitoring tool required (Solarwinds, Nagios, etc)

  • Knowledge and some experience with Palo Alto/ION firewall products required

  • Knowledge and effective understanding of key technologies and industry/third-party services, methods, and best-practices in networking services and support.

  • Desire to continuously learn and be engaged with new systems and services as well as flexible to change, addition and transition of duties

  • Have a passion and drive and enjoy being engaged with new and challenging circumstances every day

  • Understanding of WiFi technologies, skilled in setup and support of Aruba & Meraki WiFi products running RF across a mix of physical spaces

  • Knowledge of layer 2 switching in ethernet technologies to deliver user access over copper & fiber mediums

  • Knowledge in network monitoring protocols (Netflow, SNMP etc)

  • Experience with Aruba ClearPass and VPN solutions preferred

  • Prior experience with network automation toolsets preferred

  • Vulnerability remediation experience preferred

  • DNA Center experience preferred

  • Cloud experience a plus
