Duties and Responsibilities
The Marketing Support Specialist assists with the planning, execution, optimization, monitoring, and tracking of marketing initiatives and advertising campaigns. As a member of the Marketing & Advertising team of the central University Marketing & Communications ( UMC ) division, this position supports brand awareness and reputational marketing for the overall University, as well as schools and other strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day tactical management of a robust marketing and advertising operation that includes digital and social platforms; broadcast and streaming mediums; print and content marketing; and a variety of out-of-home channels. Being versed in data analysis is a plus to assist with campaign targeting, tracking, and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing Operations, the Marketing Support Specialist will provide operations support for marketing and paid advertising. Duties include, but are not limited to (as other duties may be assigned):
Relationship Management
Coordinate vendor placement proposals and asset delivery
Manage internal customer expectations of marketing plans and placements
Collaborate with teams in UMC to ensure alignment of brand and editorial standards
Campaign Management
Manage marketing asset library
Manage secured advertising inventory
As directed, plan and execute marketing initiatives and advertising campaigns
Monitor and maintain campaign performance metrics
Tracking & Reporting
Maintain a list of marketing/advertising opportunities and vendors/placement specifications
Track assets in-market, along with overall performance metrics
Assist in the development of weekly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, business or related field
2-4 years of related marketing experience required

Proven organizational skills with experience balancing multiple deadlines
Excellent time management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Experience in Google Analytics, SproutSocial, and various advertising management platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, notably Photoshop, Premiere Pro a plus
Superior writing and editing communication skills required
Demonstrated project management and team management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate activities productively with functions and units outside his/her own sphere of control
Ability to drive results and multitask in a collaborative, consensus-focused organization
Superior abilities for operational and strategic planning a must
High ethical standards and integrity required
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in project management
5+ years of advertising and/or agency experience
