Robert Half is seeking a Trust & Estates Legal Assistant to join an industry leading firm in downtown Chicago. This client is looking for someone with 3-5+ years of experience with trusts & estates law. This position is paying a competitive compensation package depending on experience. The Legal Assistants should have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, as well as computer and technical knowledge. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Provide administrative and executive support for estate planning attorneys.

• Create closing binders of completed estate plan documents.

• Coordinate the transfer of assets into trusts, including bank accounts, stock transfers and real estate deeds

• Organize and maintain files for attorneys including filing correspondence and/or legal documents in a physical office filing system as well as an electronic document management system.

• Verify bank balances and prepares inventory and appraisement

• Coordinate and manages post-death administration of trusts and estates

• Maintain estate bank accounts and investments

• Collect documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals

  Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of estate planning

• Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

• 3+ years of previous experience

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
