We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
This opportunity is to join our Finance Early-Career Development Program crafted to progress the technical, financial, and leadership skills of early career, underrepresented individuals. A diverse group of candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Participants will be supported through various experiences, including experiential and action learning, course training, mentorship, peer coaching, virtual knowledge sharing, and networking.
During this cohort-based program, you will be fully immersed in our collaborative culture built on diversity of thought. Our teams will be looking for your curiosity and your outstanding point of view. This two-year program allows participants to gain exposure to two areas of interest within FP&A. Candidates will have the option to work with diverse areas in financial, strategic, and technical roles, gaining business partnership knowledge and growing their overall financial foresight at United. Candidates selected for this program will receive continuous growth opportunities outside their direct role through personal and development initiatives.
Provides financial and statistical analysis, support, and reporting to leadership
Generates routine reporting as well as specific ad hoc analysis
Participates and contributes to meetings involving key finance issues
Directly responsible for development and delivery of financial analyses, and provision of accurate financial guidance, supporting and advising senior leaders in key critical initiatives
Lead projects through their full lifecycles, from initial concept and sizing to implementation
Support of organization and senior leaders in regular and ongoing reporting on profitability, operational, and financial performance by building financial models in support of long range planning process as well as ad-hoc scenario analysis needs
Support senior leadership in capital allocation discussions
Incorporating long range earnings projections and capital expense priorities
Strive for continuous improvement of 3 statement model, both for near term and long term projections

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field
Minimum 3 years of analytical work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility; airline or travel proven experience
Well acquainted with financial documents and analyses
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proficient with data querying tools and data manipulation
Ability to work cross-functionally and navigate organizational interdependencies
Ability to identify data trends and turn data into information
Ability to create and deliver presentations and optimally communicate to senior leadership
Ability to generate creative solutions to difficult or ambiguous problems
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
MBA or Master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Quantitative field highly preferred
Hyperion planning experience preferred
2-4 years FP&A experience
Preferred CISSP, CISA, or CISM
Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Spotfire
Initiating action, building partnerships, cross-functional collaboration, finding solutions, planning and organizing, self-starter, strong inter-personal skills
The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
