Interagency Billing Specialist – Hub International

Reporting to the Manager – Shared Services, within the Business Analysis & Operations Team, the Interagency Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring internal customer needs are understood, defined, and executed through successful technology and process solutions. The Shared services team works with the business to simplify, standardize, automate, and share operational processes and workflows. They do this through an ongoing learning and development loop of operationalizing, optimizing, and transforming.

The Interagency Billing Specialist contributes to the successful achievement of the organization’s mission and strategic initiatives by managing the billing of shared client revenues between two or more internal business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including the Following:

  • Daily management and resolution of interagency billing requests submitted by client service teams

  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with regional client service teams and finance teams to facilitate the revenue sharing process

  • Review and approve interagency revenue sharing submissions, ensuring proper documentation has been received to move forward with client billing

  • Perform interagency policy setup and billing procedures on behalf of client service teams within agreed upon timelines

  • Work closely with regional service and finance leaders to ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and that all associated templates are maintained and current

  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner thoroughly and to completion

  • Provide updates to management on all areas of concern or improvement

  • Create and maintain all standard operating procedures and policies

  • Follow all standard operating procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

  • Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages.

  • Computer Skills : Proficient using insurance broker management systems, Applied Epic experience a plus. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written and oral instructions. Ability to listen and analyze information.

  • Education and Experience : High School diploma or equivalency is required. 3 to 5 years of client service expense in the insurance brokerage industry, including performing client billing functions required, insurance brokerage accounting experience a plus.

  • Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to effectively present information on telephone, in one-on-one or small group situations to service team members. Ability to communicate information and ideas through effective speaking and documentation.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Property & Casualty License preferred but not required.

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of objects up to 25 pounds

  • Working in a moderately noisy environment

  • Working with frequent interruptions and distractions

Although hybrid to a local HUB office is desirable, this position is open to remote candidates.

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
