Job Description Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will support with the implementation and administration of human resource programs, policies, and practices with utmost customer service and professionalism to our prospective and current staff.

Job Description

The Human Resources Coordinator:

  • Responsible for greeting internal/external customers and assessing any inquiries via phone, email, or in-person to determine the nature of the need or request, secure the appropriate resource, and monitor for follow-up to ensure needs are met.
  • Responds to employee questions and concerns as needed and within purview, using knowledge of HR policies and procedures to help resolve employee concerns and questions.
  • Manage new employee physicals once new employee has arrived for their appointment: gathering all requisite paperwork in a timely manner, working in collaboration with the appropriate Recruiter to ensure the new employee is hired in Workday, and managing appropriate communication with Employee Health.
  • Responsible for all day to day activities related to SRAlab uniforms. This will include ordering, distribution of uniforms to new hires and existing employees, addressing employee uniform questions and issues, managing uniform inventory, projections and budgeting for each year and organizing the uniform storage area. Meets with employees to provide uniform fittings, and performs administrative tasks and data entry to track all uniform orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining records for new hire orientation, HRIS and Human Resources compliance.
  • Assists all areas of HR regarding programs, special initiatives, recruiting, benefits, and administration and employee relations.
  • Support with the logistics, communication, and operations for any internal and external engagement or recruitment events.
  • Manage employee personnel files. Monitors and collects documents to ensure compliance to relevant company policies and legal requirements, conducting audits as appropriate.
  • Assists recruiting function as needed.
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks such as composing internal directory, office supplies, invoices, and scheduling.
  • Participates in HR related projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to Manager, Talent Aquisition.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Req ired

  • Education level appropriate with what is normally gained through the acquisition of a bachelor\'s degree in human resources or business.
  • Ability to recommend and advocate for appropriate human resource decisions with internal and external clients.
  • Able to promote an appreciation of, and sensitivity to, the diversity of individuals involved in situations and how that diversity may affect behavior.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills, meeting deadlines while managing multiple priorities.

  • Required to lift, carry, & move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
