East Bank Club Gymnasium Supervisor in Chicago, Illinois

The Gymnasium Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all member and guest activities in the Gymnasium. These activities include but are not limited to basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, soccer, pickleball, and dodgeball. The Gymnasium Supervisor will be knowledgeable about all programming scheduled in the Gymnasium and will act as a monitor during open play basketball, soccer, volleyball, and other scheduled games. It is essential for the Gymnasium Supervisor to have a thorough understanding of the Club Gymnasium rules, requirements, as well as basketball rules and regulations.

Schedule:

Saturday: 9am to 3pm

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct a thorough walk-through of the Gymnasium at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Pay attention to detail regarding the cleanliness of the gymnasium and office areas.

  • Ensure that all equipment, including rims, backboards, nets, shot clocks, and balls, are in good working condition.

  • Monitor and assist in coordinating open play pick-up games.

  • Set up and take down other sports equipment as scheduled, such as volleyball nets.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of basketball gameplay and rules, as well as Club and Gymnasium guidelines.

  • Promptly report member issues, incidents, and accidents to the Club Management office and take necessary action, if needed, to ensure safety in the Gymnasium.

  • Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills during play on the court.

  • Provide support as required for seasonal basketball leagues.

  • Maintain stock of first aid supplies.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by Club Management.

Requirements

Good understanding of basketball games, rules, and requirements.

Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.

Able to create a competitive play environment.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred/Plus:

  • Prior high school or college basketball playing or coaching experience.

  • CPR/AED certified.
