Home Chef FSQA Intern in Chicago, Illinois
Home Chef is recruiting Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) interns for the summer of 2023 with the option for an earlier start. The interns will be based out of our Corporate Office located in Chicago, Illinois or remotely. Interns will support the FSQA team with ad hoc projects including automating our facility visitors log, revamping our allergen validation, finalizing our retail donation policy, supporting standardization across the enterprise, and other gap and data analyses and projects as assigned. You will gain experience in the meal kit industry and exposure to FSQA practices at the corporate and plant level.
Project Management:
Assist the FSQA Team in overseeing schedules and milestone management
Perform project research as needed
Prepare and assist in project documentation, including identifying project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines.
Working with stakeholders to execute against project goals
Conduct Analysis and Put Together Reports on KPIs:
Obtain weekly project status from all team members as needed
Pull relevant data from Home Chef systems and put together charts / dashboards in Google sheets
Provide data entry in Home Chef databases:
- Assist in data cleanup inside of Home Chef systems as we continue to grow and refine processes (e.g. ingredients database)
Participate in FSQA Team Meetings:
Report out to FSQA leadership on project status
Take notes in meetings as needed
This position requires up to 25% travel depending on the project assigned. Travel would be to our production facilities to support projects as needed.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or a related field
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, ability to pick up on new technology tools quickly
Detail oriented and organized
Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects at a time
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour
