Description

We are in search of a Controller to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves overseeing the daily accounting and finance operations of various locations. The individual will be required to collaborate with operational teams to drive cost control initiatives. Offering a contract employment opportunity, this role is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and profitability across product lines and locations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily accounting and finance operations across multiple locations.

• Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement cost control initiatives within the restaurant and bakery operation.

• Analyze cost structures and pricing strategies to optimize profitability across product lines and locations.

• Monitor inventory controls, food, and labor costs to ensure operational efficiency and margin improvement.

• Prepare, analyze, and present timely and accurate financial statements to senior management, highlighting key business drivers.

• Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.

• Assist with strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting.

• Involvement in compliance and risk management.

• Utilize skills in Microsoft Excel, Restaurant industry, and Manufacturing Cost Accounting for effective execution of duties.

Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Prior experience in the restaurant industry

• Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting

• Ability to manage financial operations

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

• Professional certification (CPA or CMA) is preferred

• Experience with financial software and systems

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
