25% Under immediate supervision, serves as a Application Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS):\ Performs limited assignments in application programming, typically restricted to the maintenance or modification of existing programs.\ Assists in performing professional application services work for the Web and DRS applications Unit.\ Attends additional formal and informal training to develop the knowledge and technical computer skills required for this position (i.e., JAVA, Websphere and other web-based languages and tools).
\ 25% Writes, modifies, debugs, tests and documents Web and DRS applications of a limited complexity, utilizing JAVA, WebSphere, .Net and other web-based languages and tools.
\ 20% Receives extensive training in computer system documentation.
20% Receives instruction and orientation related to methods of analysis, computer characteristics and problem-solving techniques:\ Receives instruction relating to governmental and organizational structure, methods and functions of operation and Management Information Systems.
\ 5% Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field:\ Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.\ Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations.
\ 5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within scope of the duties enumerated above.\
