Position Overview
Invenergy’s Compliance department is a dynamic group that engages with key stakeholders across the company to address ongoing and emerging issues. The team has a primary focus on preserving Invenergy’s integrity, particularly in critical areas of regulatory and reputational risk, such as trade and supply chain compliance, data privacy, policy management, due diligence and more.
Invenergy is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Analyst, Compliance to support our growing Compliance team. This individual will be located in Invenergy’s Chicago, IL, office and will report directly to the Compliance Manager. Key responsibilities include helping to train and communicate compliance best practices and policies across the business, as well as analyze internal trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to our Compliance program.
To be successful in this role, the right candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to collect information from varying sources and summarize that information in a simple way for managerial / stakeholder understanding. In addition, this person will need the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at varying levels, ranging from entry-level employees to senior management. Demonstrated experience knowing when to escalate urgent issues to management, and when to provide updates in a routine fashion is a must.
Responsibilities:
Policy Management
Track, analyze and update existing compliance policies and related documentation, working with cross-functional stakeholders to help validate information.
Analyze internal procedures and make suggestions for process improvements in response to ever changing legal / regulatory requirements.
Develop and execute new compliance policies and procedures.
Obtain the necessary approvals from management by tracking changes, updating changes, and saving documentation in an organized fashion.
Keep internal departments impacted by company-wide policies, including the Legal, HR, Finance, IT, and others, updated.
Communicate and train on company policies and guidelines to employees, management, committees, designated departments, and/or individuals.
Monitor and report against compliance policies and procedures to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Compliance Training & Communications
Develop creative training and communications with informational content and resources to reach employees in all parts of the business.
Manage the Compliance team’s training and communication(s) calendar / schedule.
Develop content for monthly Compliance articles sent company-wide, highlighting key industry updates and departmental compliance activities / engagement
Prepare compliance presentations and reports based on the extensive collection, analysis, and summary of compliance information.
Write and communicate with various employees at different levels, ranging from entry level employees to senior management
Eventually act as the Compliance team’s primary Learning Management System (LMS) content owner, with support and guidance provided by the Compliance Manager.
Monitoring, Analytics & Reporting
Help develop and drive automation technologies / solutions to help streamline current manual processes.
Identify opportunities for greater efficiency in daily departmental activities, and work with cross-functional teams for improved share service operations.
Collaborate closely with internal and external specialists, such as IT, Business Transformation, and vendor(s), on monitoring, analytics, and reporting tools and methods.
Identify potential data sources for building dashboard reports for compliance team and senior management reference for decision making.
Perform data queries and analysis using Business Intelligence (BI) tools
Compliance Operational & Project Management Support
Assist the Invenergy Compliance team with coordination and execution of activities, including scheduling meetings with key stakeholders (both internal and external), capturing meeting minutes, and organizing key documentation.
Facilitate team check-ins, collecting proposed agenda items from team members prior to calls, helping the team stay on track, and capture details around key decisions / actions for team reference.
Log questions and suggestions from the business in our database, categorize and analyze data for trends, and provide summarized reports / updates to the Compliance team, as necessary
Maintain the Compliance team’s project plan details, following up with internal team members for updates and updating field drop-down value(s) and report(s) as necessary.
Develop internal Work Instructions for daily operational tasks performed by Compliance to support consistency and sustainability as our team grows.
Support Invenergy’s Compliance Manager with day-to-day project management and administrative needs.
Personal & Team Improvement
Independently research different laws, rules, and regulations by reviewing regulatory bulletins, federal updates, news briefs, and other sources of information.
Perform necessary compliance risk management due diligence tasks and testing / monitoring, as needed
Support ad-hoc Compliance initiatives as needed.
Proactively seek out relevant industry events, webinars, and/or certifications for personal and team development.
Required Skills:
Industry-related bachelor’s degree and/or accredited compliance management certification.
3-5 years applicable experience (minimum required), previous experience as a compliance analyst in a related field (preferred)
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables), SharePoint, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Analytical abilities and experience using BI tools, such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI (preferred)
Strong project management skills (planning, executing, reporting, and evaluating)
Hands-on understanding of monitoring analytics, and reporting tools used by compliance organizations.
Creating and managing compliance information and performance reporting showing integrity and sound judgement.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external audiences. Ability to effectively train employees.

Strong organizational skills and a very high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
