Scope
The Lead Web Engineer is a critical technology leadership role for the evolution, development, and operations of our Digital Marketing web ecosystem. We are seeking a motivated, talented, and experienced technologist to lead our global Web team. This role reports to the Director of Global Marketing and Commerce platforms in our Xerox Digital Experience technology organization.
Responsibilities
Subject matter expert across web domain and associated technologies
Formulation and execution of technology roadmap for xerox.com web ecosystem, including development and production environments
Ownership and accountability for platform change and operations within our Web portfolio. Expectation to be proactive and act without intervention when necessary. A high level of confident autonomous working will be expected.
Operates within Xerox Governance and Security frameworks and controls
Principal technologist partner to Digital Marketing organization
Ongoing minimization of technical debt
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal (English)
Ability to articulate complex problems confidently and concisely
Operate independently with minimal supervision
Skills and Experience
Experience leading technical staff, specifically web development teams
Significant and demonstrable hands-on experience in back-end web technologies, specifically including Node and Express
Comprehensive knowledge of web design patterns and architecture, including separation of back-end and front-end/rendering services
Experience with the following
Web Services including REST and GraphQL
Test Driven development and use of frameworks such as Jest
Azure serverless technologies including key-value databases such as Redis, Functions, App Services, and networking and traffic management
Accessible web applications (Voice Over, TalkBack, NVDA)
Code review and migration
Best practices for Internet-facing Web Applications and eCommerce Applications
CI/CD pipelines
Agile delivery environment
Good to have
Working knowledge of DNS, SSL/TLS * SNI
Working knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (Akamai preferred)
Experience working on a geographically distributed team spanning Americas, Europe, Latin America, and India
Familiarity with web security standards and practices, including investigation of security events, and short and long term remediations
