Ford Pro Upfitter Specialty Vehicle Account Manager

In this position...

The Ford Pro Specialty Vehicle Team is responsible for the interface between Ford Pro and the modifiers (upfitters), building strong relationships in adherence to safety and quality. Responsible for ensuring product related questions are answered in a timely fashion while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing priorities.

The right candidate must be willing to travel, have great interpersonal skills, and have a strong business acumen with a broad technical background

What you'll do...

  • Act as single Point of Contact for assigned Specialty Vehicle (SV)/Ford Pro Upfitter (FPU) on fleet related items including, allocation and reassignments; FPU assessments; lead communication and resolution with key internal/external stakeholders as appropriate to assist/support customer upfitters.

  • Fulfill SV/FPU program responsibilities and required communication with assigned upfitters:

  • Work with SV upfitters to achieve vehicle sales & share objectives by vehicle line.

  • Utilize key market share and competitive data to inform upfitters and develop robust business plans to grow the CV Small Fleet (NFS 1-25) business.

  • Work with SV upfitters and Ford Pro personnel to implement Sales and Share targets.

  • Work with FPU to coordinate assessment and qualifications, manage and review new applications and maintain assessment check lists.

  • Summarize and document learnings from upfitter visits, maintain upfitter and data integrity and consult, when appropriate

  • Provide upfitters with regular updates on key information and breaking news.

  • Review and approve Sales and Share improvement / business plans with upfitters.

  • Monitor and reinforce Converter Pool Program compliance including resolution of probation issues.

  • Identify market opportunities to add new/additional upfitters in line with market data.

  • Additional responsibilities:

  • Account Inventory forecasting - monitor upfitter inventory and aging to prevent excessive days in stock

  • Pool placement/termination -- monitor and reinforce performance and execution of SV inventory initiatives for upfitters

  • Set upfitter objectives and monitor performance

  • Collaborate with both Ford Pro, Commercial Vehicle teams and external customers (upfitters)

  • Subjectively review and evaluate upfitters with consistency

  • Assist with Up-fitter Advisory Board meetings and Pool Account Meetings

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years experience within the upfitter space

  • Basic understanding of Quality Operating Systems

  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

  • Enthusiasm for working with commercial upfitter customers and industry partners to grow sales, market share and increase customer loyalty of Ford Pro vehicles

  • Candidate must be able to travel overnight; estimated travel a minimum of 2 weeks per month

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

  • Field, Marketing, Sales & Service, Manufacturing or Engineering experience desired

  • STA experience desired, but not required

  • Self-starter with can do attitude, emotional resilience, smart work ethic, and ability to deliver results with minimal supervision

  • Task oriented individual capable of skillfully managing multiple competing issues, opportunities and objectives

  • Strong organization and attention to detail are critical elements of the role

  • Ability to build strong relationships, influence others to embrace initiatives and inspire action

  • STA experience desired, but not required

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
