Summary:

Messenger Product Foundation (MPF) is responsible for horizontal products that make up the Messenger app and support messaging across our networks. This includes:Owns Discovery innovation, development of a new discovery/activity tab. Messenger app’s information architecture and design system including our tabs and navigation/badging systems (defining the strategy and criteria). Making Messenger multi-network through enabling new account types (Horizon and IG).Help people connect with communities and experiences relevant to them, owning the search, ranking, notification and presence (green dot) systems. Owns our messaging Health program i.e. Messenger app and messaging network quality/PREQ. Owns the end-to-end large-screen experiences (desktop and web) to drive innovation and quality.

Data Science, Director - Messenger Product Foundation Responsibilities:

1. Building and Managing Data Science teams through managers of managers.

2. Strong track record leading a high performing team through ambiguity.

3. Maintain a high bar in terms of product thinking and analytical depth for your team through selective hiring and mentorship.

4. Technical background and ability to dive into details of technologies built by Engineering and Data Science teams.

5. Lead cross-functional and cross-team relationship building and collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 7+ years experience managing a team of analysts, data scientists.

2. 7+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis.

3. 7+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.

4. Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering.

5. Experience initiating and driving projects to completion autonomously.

6. Experience and track record influencing cross org decisions/successful virtual teams.

Public Compensation:

$243,000/year to $312,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
