Job Description

Temporary Office Pool

The Connell School of Nursing seeks a temporary fiscal and grant specialist beginning end of September / early October to help support transition in the Office of Nursing Research. Possible opportunity for temp to perm but not guaranteed.

The temporary Fiscal & Grant Specialist’s primary responsibility is the maintenance of financial operations for the school’s start-up funds, internal grants, research budgets and temporary research staff. He/she is the primary contact for processing financial reimbursements and expenses. She/he processes all grant related expenses, and hires, trains, oversees and signs off on student employee hours worked on grants. She/he provides financial analysis support to the Assistant Director, Fiscal & Grant Administration and Associate Dean, Finance & Administration, and assists with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.

  • Competency in Microsoft Excel for basic financial tracking and reporting.

  • Familiarity with university financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to perform financial tasks accurately with a focus on detail.

  • Comfortable with routine financial tasks, such as expense processing and reimbursement.
