CGL Facility Management, LLC Lead HVAC Technician $1,000 Sign-On Bonus (Central VA Correctional Unit) in Chesterfield, Virginia

Description

We are offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus!!! If hired, you will receive $250 with your first paycheck and the remaining $750 after 90-days of employment.

You must be eligible to work in the U.S., pass an extensive background investigation, drug screen, and motor vehicle record check. The work location for this position is the Central Virginia Correctional Unit in Richmond, VA .

Position Summary

The Lead HVAC Technician/ Steamfitter is a working supervisor and he/she is responsible for fulfilling the technical aspects of the HVAC maintenance in the contract, ensuring that facilities are well maintained and operable, and for managing the HVAC maintenance staff under his/her supervision. Assigns and schedules work, answers questions, and serves as a quality control inspector. Interfaces with subcontractors on all requisitioned work assignments to achieve full contract compliance are also required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reviews job requests and work orders daily to determine work load priorities. Assigns work to staff and monitors progress towards completion.

  • Performs corrective and preventive maintenance activities on systems to provide continuous performance of HVAC and other mechanical systems required for operations.

  • Performs routine facility inspections for conformance with operational and safety requirements and standards.

  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

  • Informs and confers with Maintenance Manager to resolve facility problems and personnel issues.

  • Keeps CGL Facility Management informed of the progress and status of all open work orders, projects, staff attendance, and other activities to help ensure adequate use of resources and timely completion of work orders in a cost-effective manner.

  • Becomes familiar and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.

  • Interacts professionally with vendors and staff; maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the client management teams to effectively meet agency and CGL objectives.

  • Responds to all emergencies as requested in compliance with contract requirements.

  • Ensures proper documentation in Client’s work order system of work performed and maintains accurate records.

  • Prepares records, reports, and other documentation related to work performed in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Must respond to after-hours emergency calls from clients. Appropriate accommodations will be made for both time spent and associated costs incurred in response to after-hours situations.

  • Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of CGL Facility Management, OSHA, and our clients.

  • Must maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

May directly supervise HVAC staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CGL Facility Management policies and all applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work.

Education

High school diploma (or equivalent) required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master HVAC license preferred but not required for this role.

  • Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.

  • Must have a minimum of six years of related commercial building mechanical maintenance management experience.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.

  • Must be able to read blueprints and as-built drawings.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Must be a team player, have strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed while representing our firm with the best possible service to our clients.

  • Microsoft Office skills required.

  • HVAC and EPA certification required.

  • OSHA 10/OSHA 30 certification required, if not obtained at the time of hire, must be able to obtain certification within 90 days of start date.

  • Must reside in or be willing to locate to the Atlanta, GA area.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal back ground check.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are standard business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Will be required to be on-call for after-hours emergency maintenance on a rotating basis.

Travel

Travel less than 10% of the time.

Work Environment

Majority of the tasks associated with this position will be performed indoors, however, some duties will require the ability to function outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions for short periods of time. May have exposure to potential hazards.
