Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a distribution warehouse setting and be proficient in operating sit-down forklifts. Responsibilities include picking orders, RF scanning, and performing general shipping and receiving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders off racks

• Use RF scanning devices

• Operate sit-down forklifts (Propane Forklift experience preferred)

• Perform 70% forklift operations and 30% general shipping and receiving tasks

• Shrink wrap and break down pallets

• Load trucks

• Ensure the exact quantity and type of product is prepared and pulled

• Follow directions and procedures accurately

• Maintain quality standards for shipped products

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a distribution warehouse

• Proficient in RF scan gun usage

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Experience in loading 53' trailers

• Knowledge of WMS systems

• Experience with 2-prong forklifts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior shipping experience

• Ability to lift pallet weights up to 2500 pounds within 15’ rack positions

• Food handling experience is a plus

• Reliable transportation

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled warehouse and distribution center. The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
