Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, your key responsibility will be to assist with the management of the Preventive Maintenance program. This includes scheduling, overseeing, and logging the completion of PM’s. You will be responsible for performing work in a safe manner with the right tools & PPE and troubleshooting as well as performing repairs & maintenance to mechanical equipment. You will also handle electrical and controls equipment including PLCs, review new equipment, and manage the installation process. Your role will include writing equipment related procedures for monitoring and PMs, overseeing projects for installations and overhauls, and mentoring associates with less experience.
Hard Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
Understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics
Understanding of electrical safety
Practical understanding of AC/DC motors
Understanding and practical knowledge of OSHA TAGOUT/LOCKOUT procedures
Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to operate a forklift
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Good judgment

This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Work Environment
The work environment is not climate controlled but is primarily indoors with some outdoor work (not for long periods). The temperature in the warehouse is generally comfortable. The work schedule is first shift, from 7am-3:30pm, Monday - Friday, with after hours for breakdowns as needed.
