Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Analyst in the retail industry based in Chesapeake, Virginia. The key focus of this role is to build complex spreadsheets derived from current financial data, and providing detailed financial analysis for the company.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain complex spreadsheets to analyze current financial data

• Utilize advanced Excel skills to create these spreadsheets from scratch

• Monitor and analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights

• Collaborate with multiple departments to gather necessary data for analysis

• Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to automate processes where possible

• Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date

• Identify potential cash loss instances and develop strategies to mitigate them

• Communicate findings and recommendations to management and the wider team

• Continuously improve and streamline processes to enhance efficiency

• Stay updated on industry trends and changes that could impact financial data. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Analyst role, preferably within the retail industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets is a must

• Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and their application in accounting tasks

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability to handle large amounts of data and convert it into meaningful analysis

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and standards

• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting accountants, clients, and upper management

• Good organizational skills for keeping track of all data and materials

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
