Jewish Federation of Southern NJ Teacher Assistant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey
The Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center, located at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, is an award winning and leading provider of early childhood education in South Jersey for over 50 years. We offer full day infant/toddler care, nursery school and preschool, full day certified Kindergarten, pre-K and transitional Kindergarten for ages 6 weeks through 6 years.
We are hiring Assistant Teachers
Hours: Monday-Friday (Flexibility would be a plus)
Salary Pay: $17/hour
Summary: Assist the Head Teacher in all areas of classroom's needs. Creates a safe, nurturing environment. Interacts with parents in a positive manner. Helps administer curriculum in classroom as planned by Head Teacher. Attends seminars, meetings, etc. Is responsive to the needs of the JCC.
Job Responsibilities:
It is essential that all staff participate in a variety of agency wide and interdepartmental activities. Staff should be
knowledgeable about our agency and be able to respond appropriately with accurate information.
Helps administer curriculum
Keeps room attractive and in good order
Makes sure that lunch and snack needs are accommodated
Interacts with parents within Head teacher’s parameters
Attends staff meetings/professional development seminars
Interacts with children in a positive manner
Motivates children and creates an enjoyable atmosphere
Daily journal record keeping via Tadpoles.
Daily interaction with parents.
Must be able to lift children up to 40 pounds several times per day.
Works with committees within the ECE Department and is available for JCC special events committees and Teachers' Meetings.
Must be flexible to move to another room if asked by the ECE admin team.
Must be willing and able to diaper children and follow guidelines for diapering and teach the team.
Must observe and partake in new COVID-19 cleaning and sanitizing protocol including sanitizing of toys, tables and chairs, doorknobs, light switches, hand hygiene, new arrival and drop off procedures and any other guidelines that might be instated by the Governor, CDC and DFC
Required Education & Experience:
High school graduate with at least two years college preferred.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Additional Technical Requirements:
Ability to perform work that is routine and strong attention to details.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Excellent project management, customer service, organization, and time management skills.
