The Global Scaled Services team (GSS) at Prime Video is an operationally-driven team of designers, producers, QA specialists and operations managers responsible for creating and delivering high volumes of digital assets. GSS is seeking for a Senior Manager, for Global Operations based in Chennai, India, who can help the team drive and improve operational key performance indicators, process efficiency, reduce defects, and deliver financial savings through continuous improvement projects. The Senior Manager will manage a large group of operation leaders and associates and will set the vision and direction for the team that will support and promote the goals of the Global Scaled Services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve process, KPIs and operational standards within Global Scaled Services and internal stakeholders and promote a positive health and safety culture on site.

  • Overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of GSS operations functions, including full accountability for setting and achieving operational goals, strategic planning, analysis and set up business plans via Process Improvement opportunities and activities.

  • Business analysis and partnership across Amazon Prime Video and Studios leaders to develop new operating opportunities.

  • Leverage ideas of Operations Managers, Program Managers and Team Leaders to source and nurture creative improvement plans for the control center and take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across the entire operations.

  • Be a Subject-Matter Expert on larger processes and activities within Prime Video/Studios with the goal to develop the management and improve the processes and assume an active role in contingency management.

The candidate must be able to influence across multiple company organizations, be an exceptional communicator and analytic thinker and have a history of delivering results. The person must possess excellent leadership skills, relevant operational background and experience in data analysis. The individual must have ability to work with cross-functional teams including senior leadership in India and abroad. He/she must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytic talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. The person will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve processes.

Basic Qualifications

Completed Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering, Management or similar field or

2+ years of Amazon experience.

7+ years of management experience involving 10 or more internal/external customers.

Experience defining operational requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.

7-10 years of post-graduate work experience in a related function or field.

Experience managing large multi-functional projects, programs, or initiatives.

Extensive experience breaking down complex problems and setting a vision to simplify, improve, and automate.

Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to travel up to 25% time to various facilities in the Amazon network.

Strong senior operations team leadership experience (scaled/shared services, production or creative environments), in a similar fast-paced environment.

Goal driven, target orientated, able to step back and look at the bigger picture and long term vision for the department.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
