About you and this role

The position is part of the Process Automation Discipline within TES organization, covering Support and Sustain Team areas of responsibility relating to the support of process automation systems. The Support and Sustain personnel provide preventative maintenance and troubleshooting support for the global installed base of process automation systems (ABB, GPI and MES).

They also support the implementation of new instances of these systems. Their key objective is to minimize plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. The candidate will also perform project assignments that provide Process Information system configuration, design, development, and support to projects executed globally.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an integrated team to support Process Information (PI) and Production Operations Management system applications, both in-house and commercial.

  • Troubleshoot process information and network problems to resolve process information system problems. Escalates issues to additional support resources and follow-ups, as necessary.

  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on operating process automation systems. Understands and follows all identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution and Request Management, S&OP Case entry, Engineering and Maintenance Asset database updates. Provides training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points, as well as other site support resources. Participates in risk assessment when activities to the system are required.

  • Execution of projects following Dow project work processes. Completes small project work including system installation, configuration, design and development. Work with MES Project Leads, Designers/Developers, Manufacturing Representatives, Process Control Engineers, Environmental Engineers, and Process Safety Engineers to develop, configure and implement.

  • Support product development Technology development of MES-related cloud-based solutions (OREM, Envision and MSB). Test and develop new applications to support chemical manufacturing facility process information needs. Proactively engage with stakeholders to define MES-related cloud-based solutions. Perform high level functional activities, such as requirements gathering and gap analysis of user requirements.

  • Participate in the design specifications, configuration, testing, and implementation of MES related solutions using cloud technologies. Software development lifecycle management using DevOps and GIT Version management. Participate in projects using Agile project management principles and Microsoft software development technologies, including Azure DevOps, C#.NET in a Microsoft Azure.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Automation. Knowledge of at least one standard programming or query language is required (example SQL, JAVA, C# or .NET).

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. cloud solutions, process automation and/or manufacturing execution systems)

  • Experience in C#.NET development, RDMBS and Microsoft Azure. Experience using DevOps methodologies and modern web development

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Microsoft Outlook is also required.

  • Experience on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process Automation/Information is preferred.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
