Job Overview:

The Associate MTO Designer is an entry-level position, and their work is completed with close supervision and support. They work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines. The Associate MTO Designer should have basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process and appropriate licenses / training certifications.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate Material Takeoff (MTO) documents in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Procurement Teams to identify and resolve any material discrepancies, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials.

  • Assist in the preparation of detailed design deliverables, including drawings, layouts, and 3D models, using industry-standard software.

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of project requirements, specifications, and relevant documents to support the accurate generation of MTOs.

  • Collaborate with the Project Team to develop optimized material quantities and specifications, considering cost, quality, and project timeline.

  • Conduct periodic quality checks on MTOs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Assist in the revision and modification of MTOs based on project changes, ensuring proper documentation and communication to internal stakeholders.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to Material Takeoff processes and tools.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times while performing job duties.

  • Maintain accurate and updated MTO records throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide technical support and expertise to internal stakeholders regarding material specifications, availability, and alternatives.

  • Assist in preparing project presentations and contribute to project meetings as required.

  • Ensure compliance with project quality control and documentation standards.

  • Collaborate with Procurement Teams to expedite the Procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials in accordance with project schedules.

  • Provide technical support and expertise to internal stakeholders regarding material specifications, availability, and alternatives.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • High School Diploma with specialization in Design or Drafting or Engineering Degree in a related discipline.

  • Proficient in using industry-standard software for MTO preparation, such as AutoCAD, Excel, and MTO-related software tools.

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and relevant industry standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision to ensure accurate MTO generation and documentation.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry terminologies and understanding of the EPCI project lifecycle.

  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the EPCI industry.
