Job Overview

The accountant gathers and reviews financial data for financial and regulatory reports. They prepare and get audits of the financials statements of the legal entity. They will liaise with the auditor for completing the legal entity statutory audits within the due date and with the tax consultant for filing the corporate income tax return with the due date. They shall also prepare the monthly filings for VAT/GST and WHT and review the same with the indirect tax consultants and file the same within the due date. Additionally, they will also prepare tax expense working actual and forecast as per the requirement for the legal entity. The accountant is also responsible for the preparation of tax pack and update the tax expense financial system as per the requirement and the summary of return to provision accrual when the corporate income tax return is filed. The accountant ensures the right cost is booked in the legal entity, review data from the general ledger to ensure accuracy, and prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications. Lastly, they will also pe performing any ad-hoc works assigned from time to time.

Key Tasks and Responsobilities

  • Maintain internal financial control over an area of responsibility

  • Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger

  • Follow work procedures and expedite workflow

  • Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to company accounting policies and procedures

  • Analyze records of present and past operations, trends, and costs

  • Develop and maintain a computer-based system following corporate accounting procedures

  • Ensure that all activities involving foreign currency are hedged according to company policy

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required

  • Align and coordinate with other departments and maintain a good working relationship to ensure overall efficiency

Essential Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience

  • Strong technical, team, and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight reporting schedules
