Job Summary:
Eastern Washington University Department of Athletics is currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the position- Director of Sports Medicine, which oversees all aspects of health care services provided to EWU student-athletes. This position supervises athletic training services, while also overseeing the sports medicine administrative operations in conjunction with the independent medical director. Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and managing Head Team Physician, the Director provides guidance and leadership of all sports medicine services and plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of EWU's approximately 350 student-athletes, from 14 sports, in accordance with the NATA , NCAA , Big Sky Conference, and Eastern Washington University regulations.
This role requires a high level of competence in sports medicine practices, protocols and administration. Candidates must demonstrate the organizational and administrative abilities necessary to develop and coordinate a sports medicine program; establish program priorities; provide staff management with a knowledge of human resources practices; provide work direction, assist in scheduling, and training for other Athletic Trainers, including student trainers; promote teamwork to optimize work efficiencies and effectiveness with teams, Athletic Trainers and external medical partners; develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies; develop and monitor program budget; ensure rehabilitation objectives are achieved and medical records are secured as confidential, accurate, and complete; and ensure accurate maintenance of insurance records a
