Location: Ipswich/London/Cheltenham/Sheffield

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

What you’ll do:

You are responsible for contributing to the design and deployment of new bespoke systems as well as supporting and maintaining existing ones. You should also contribute to innovation and development of new products, and process improvement initiatives. This role will require working as part of a team, supporting colleagues and collaboration with customers. You will be instrumental to the upkeep and growth of a variety of networks and their associated platforms; working with team members across the country you will support key infrastructure and deliver new features.

  • Work under general direction within a clear framework of accountability - has responsibility for delivering and implementing aspects of security solutions for GSS customers.

  • Responsible for resolving incidents and service requests in line with SLAs to enable continued system operation.

  • Identifies and communicates opportunities that assist with setting technical direction, with respect to best practice for domains of operation.

What you'll bring:

  • Service management experience within the IT industry

  • Ability to take responsibility, ownership and autonomy of delegated platform operations and deliverables

  • Experience with networking technologies to a level comparable with Cisco CCNA / CompTIA Network+ Design, test, delivery, and/or support of Cisco Routing, Switching and Firewall platforms

Desired Experience:

  • Industry certification in a desired technology (e.g. CCNA, Microsoft certified, AWS, etc.)

  • Configuration and support of wider Cisco products / technologies, including ISE and FMC

  • Scripting for network device management & configuration (e.g. Terraform/Python/PowerShell/Ansible)

  • SolarWinds Orion or similar network monitoring software

  • Windows-based domain configuration and support

  • VMware product experience

  • Technical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels ). The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn or may cause a role change or possibly lead to termination of employment.
