Brio Living Services-Chelsea Retirement Community Resident Care Assistant in Chelsea, Michigan

Salary Range: $18.03 To $21.63 Hourly

 

 Hours/ Schedule: *40 hours per week,  2:30pm-11pm | *No scheduling mandation | Weekend and holiday rotation required

Location:  Chelsea Retirement Community | Assisted Living-Glazier Commons

Shift Differentials, Holiday, and weekend differentials:  Beginning 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $ 1.00 | Beginning 10:31 pm - 7:00 am $ 0.75 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $ 1.00

What you'll do

With warmth and understanding, the Resident Care Assistant provides and assists in essential daily living care to older adults according to the resident service plan.

Activities of Daily Living:

  • Attend to personal care needs including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Perform laundry, change bed linens, and tidy resident rooms
  • Provide dental and mouth care
  • Transfer residents safely, utilizing mechanical equipment as required
  • Provide meal service in accordance with required diet

Communication & Social Activities:

  • Build positive rapport with residents
  • Interact professionally with residents, family members, team members, and visitors
  • Supervise residents during activities
  • Facilitate small group activities
  • Engage residents in meaningful interactions

*Transport & Mobility: *

  • Prepare and transport residents to appointments and activities
  • Assist with lifting, turning, and positioning residents

*Monitoring and Reporting: *

  • Follow resident service plans diligently
  • Communicate any necessary changes to care routines
  • Notify supervisor of any changes in resident condition
  • Measure and record vital signs accurately in electronic records

What it takes

  • Experience in a direct caregiving role preferred but not required. 
  • Experience of caregiving in an assisted living, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs. Anything heavier than 50 lbs. must require assistance or assistive equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must take and pass facility designated medication assistance training.
