Job Title: Operations Supervisor - 2nd Shift Test Scheduler

Job Description

This position supports vehicle chassis dynamometer emissions and energy consumption testing necessary for vehicle development and required for vehicle Certification & Compliance demonstration on the second shift (3:30 pm – 11:30 pm).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage vehicle tailpipe emissions, evaporative emissions, fuel economy, on-board diagnostic functionality, and electrical systems efficiency testing.

• Supervise twelve driver mechanics, nine chassis dynamometer test cells, two evaporative SHED's, and manage 30-50 tests per day/shift.

• Oversee vehicle refueling/charging and manage a vehicle soaking area with over 150 vehicles.

• Interact with requesting engineers to provide high-quality test results safely and efficiently.

• Demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others.

• Perform progressive discipline as needed.

• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and operations management protocols.

Essential Skills

• Experience in test management and emissions test management.

• Associates degree in a relevant field.

• Strong supervisory skills with experience in direct supervision of employees.

• Ability to lead, motivate, and perform progressive discipline.

• Knowledge of safety procedures and operations management.

• Experience working in a union environment, preferably UAW.

• Strong people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of employees.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain performance when faced with challenges.

Work Environment

This is a shift operation position for the second shift (3:30 pm - 11:30 pm). Supervisors are required to be 30 minutes early for a pre-shift meeting. Expect to work overtime throughout the week and a rotation of weekends, with possible work on holidays depending on test demand. The facility is a 3000-acre proving grounds featuring a crash test track, durability testing tracks, and chassis dyno shed cells. The dress code is business casual with no frayed, ripped, or torn clothing. Closed-toe, leather-like shoes are required. All necessary PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times on the plant floor. Earbuds are not allowed on the plant floor.

This is a Contract position based out of Chelsea, Michigan.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00
