Our client near Boston, MA is looking to add a Director of Structural Engineering to their growing team! Our client would like to see a graduate level degree in Civil or Structural engineering as well as 10+ years as a Professional Engineer in this related discipline.

We are looking for candidates who bring a deep understanding of structural engineering fundamentals that excel in problem-solving with an eagerness to learn. Candidates should have a natural ability to connect with clients and lead teams positively. Ideal candidates are effective project managers, creative problem-solvers, and excellent communicators, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project-leading engineers to ensure the efficient and coordinated progress of company commitments

  • Communicate and liaise with architects, contractors, owners, and other stakeholders

  • Supervise-with internal project teams-the clarity and comprehension of project scope, as well as issues related to additional services, scope expansion, and similar matters

  • Utilize expertise in conducting a broad spectrum of structural analysis, design, and detailing tasks involving wood, masonry, steel, and concrete structures for the review and approval of project teams' work

  • Participate in the development of specifications, modeling, and drawings-primarily through internal review, but also actively engage when necessary

  • Perform on-site investigations, document existing conditions, and ascertain causation

  • Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to business development as required

  • Assist in team recruitment and hiring processes as needed

  • Actively manage and mentor junior engineers through direct involvement and exemplary conduct

  • Facilitate the maintenance of team proficiency with various technical tools

  • Supervise teams responsible for construction administration services to ensure project requirements are met within the design framework

  • Contribute fresh ideas and solutions
